The short version

Your camera feed and recordings never leave your device. We collect only anonymous usage statistics to understand how the app is used.

Camera and microphone

Face Over Screen uses the front camera to show your face in a floating bubble. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded anywhere. The microphone is used by the iOS screen recording system only when you enable it; audio goes directly into your recording.

Recordings

Screen recordings are created on your device and saved to your Photos library. We have no access to them and they are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Analytics

We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to collect anonymous usage events — for example, that a recording was started or a bubble shape was changed. This includes basic device information (model, OS version, app version) and a random device identifier. This data is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising or tracking across apps, and is never sold.

Accounts and personal data

Face Over Screen has no accounts, no sign-in, and does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or any other personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
